Update on Meningitis B Vaccination availability

We understand that recent news headlines about meningitis B have caused concern. The MenB vaccine was introduced into the NHS childhood immunisation schedule on 1 September 2015, and it is currently offered only to babies as part of the routine programme.

At this time, the NHS does not offer a catch‑up vaccination programme for children or young people born before September 2015, meaning older age groups are not routinely eligible for the MenB vaccine through the NHS.

If you have questions about private vaccination options or your individual risk, please contact the practice team—we’re here to help.
