We are delighted to welcome Dr Stacey Walklett to the team at Buxton!
Dr Walklett joined us in January for two days per week and is now working with us regularly Monday to Thursday.
Dr Walklett brings a rich and varied background to general practice. She completed her graduate entry into Medicine at the University of Nottingham. Following medical school, she worked as a doctor at King’s Mill Hospital and Royal Derby Hospital, gaining experience across a range of specialties including gastroenterology, orthopaedics, and respiratory high dependency care during the COVID-19 pandemic. She has also worked in histopathology at Sheffield Hallamshire Hospital, developing expertise in areas such as cancer diagnostics, cytology, and surgical specimens, before returning to Derby.
Dr Walklett completed her GP training in Derby and has since worked as a salaried GP across multiple practices alongside A&E work at Royal Derby Hospital.
Her clinical interests include:
- Lifestyle medicine
- Cardiovascular health
- Early cancer detection
- Medical technology and innovation
Outside of work, Stacey enjoys making the most of the beautiful Derbyshire countryside, with a passion for walking and running.
We are thrilled to have her as part of our team and know she will be a fantastic addition to the care we provide to our patients.
